Filtrete Helps w/ Clean Air!

Do you suffer from allergies? I don't... but my husband and son do. My husband only seems to have issues seasonal (and minor) but my son seems to struggle all the time w/ his. I do the best I can to ensure my home up to par for his allergies. We bought the hypoallergic pillows & sprays. We spray his mattress. Consistently dusting and wiping down baseboards and door/window frames. Keeping the air at a comfy temp. We avoid wash with free & clear, etc.. whatever we can do to improv e his quality of life. Since most people with allergies develop them during childhood, Dr. Alanna Levine, Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics (FAAP), shares the ABC's to help maintain a healthier home environment:

A is for Avoid: Whenever possible, avoid irritants that often trigger allergies, such as products made of feathers or down. Use hypoallergenic pillows on your child's bed, and limit exposure to perfume, talcum powder, hair spray, air fresheners, fabric softeners or other strong odors or sprays. Strong fragrances and odors may aggravate allergy symptoms.

B is for Balance: Maintain a consistent balance in the home to help minimize allergens. Keep the windows shut and use central AC during high pollen seasons to help protect from pollen particles that release into the air.

C is for Change: Change items that are easy to neglect but are important for maintaining a healthier home, such as leaky faucets, pipes and other high moisture areas that are common places for mold growth. Don't neglect their air in the home either. Change your filter every three months, and use a high performance filter, such as a Filtrete Elite Allergen Reduction Filter from 3M.

A Screen Protector worth buying!

Do you have an electronic gadget that has become your lifeline?? One that you constantly toss around on the table, the bar, your purse, your car seat or shove it into your jacket or jeans pocket? Do you find yourself handing them off to someone else so they may play your entertaining apps? Be it your Smart Phone, your iPod or whatever - it is sure to get smudged, scratched, and nicked. Right? Right!

3M, a leader in optical films and adhesives, recently created a new Natural View Screen Protector. I was able to test drive them. I used one on an iPod.

Sadly, the iPod screen is broken but the iPod still works. (Yeah, thank middle school aged children for the cracked screen). Anyway, I was hesitant on if this screen protector would actually work as they say - especially on a cracked screen. I bought a few different protectors online and none of them were worthy of a dime. However, the new 3M Natural View that I am testing out is certainly worth paying for! I now know that my other devices will get one... and I won't have to worry if I am wasting my money or not because I know it works! Score!

Pros:
Easy to adhesive. It had some self-adhesive stuff on it so it didn't slip and slide around and get put on sideways, etc. It even had a little squeegee with it to get out any bubbles that may have appeared. I was happy to see that it wasn't full of bubbles after applying!!

After being in the hands of 4 people... the screen is NOT all fingerprints like my cellphone! I have a touch screen phone and I'm always having to wipe prints off... the iPod with the 3M protector = no wiping off prints! Impressive.

Compared to the other protectors I bought off Amazon and eBay - hands down this is the winner!

This protector did not peel off at the edges when the iPod cover was taken on and off.

Cons:
None that I can find.

I am... I've:

-Cut back on soda (Dr. Pepper is killing me, slowly LOL)
-Walk my dog (we both need it!!)
-No snacking after a certain hour (I was a HUGE late night snacker!)
-Stopped buying a few items that were convenient (yet very very bad health wise)

Every little bit helps and I try to not get discouraged! Especially since I've gained some weight and would like to loose it since I can't wear my jeans!! Ugh. But, hey - I'm in my middle 30's and was told this would happen. Heh. So, for the first time in my life I actually care about getting healthier. Join me!

I have decided to have a fresh start. I was an everyday well-known blogger for a few years but it became less and less important and I found myself rarely posting. Sometimes, I had trouble remembering to post my PhotoHunt for the week. Anyway, I wiped my archives clean and let go of my hosting to save some $$. Ready to start anew! So, welcome (back?).
